Starting last August, we decided to include Ascencia Access Center and Emergency Housing as a distribution point for our Community Food Aid (Pandemic Response). Ascencia’s mission is to lift people out of homelessness, one person, one family at a time. Ascencia is located in Glendale CA.
Also we have started distributing food directly to the Echo Park homeless encampment under the 101 Freeway at Alvarado St. There are about 110 recorded homeless and disenfranchised individuals living there at any given time based on the database of Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA).

Poverty in the world is a scandal. In a world where there is so much wealth, so many resources to feed everyone, it is unfathomable that there are so many hungry children, that there are so many children without an education, so many poor persons. To love God and neighbor is not something abstract, but profoundly concrete: it means seeing in every person the face of the Lord to be served, to serve him concretely.
FIGHT HUNGER, GIVE ACCESS TO CLEAN WATER AND EDUCATION
You have not lived today until you have done something for someone who can never repay you.
