In Praise of Jesus Community Service Ministry believes food is a right; for all people. To put this belief into action and as a response to the massive unemployment as a result of the pandemic lock-down in Los Angeles County since March 2020, we organized a weekly food distribution called "Community Food Aid" and distributed bread, cakes, pies, cookies and produce to the homeless and the marginalized.
We are distributing food directly to the Echo Lake Park homeless encampment surrounding the Echo Lake, in partnership with the Sound of Change Ministries under Pastor Darryl Udell.
Visit our project page Community Food Lifeline (Pandemic Response). If you are in need of food or you know someone who is, please call our Emergency Food Helpline 213-478-2288.
Poverty in the world is a scandal. In a world where there is so much wealth, so many resources to feed everyone, it is unfathomable that there are so many hungry children, that there are so many children without an education, so many poor persons. To love God and neighbor is not something abstract, but profoundly concrete: it means seeing in every person the face of the Lord to be served, to serve him concretely.
FIGHT HUNGER, GIVE ACCESS TO CLEAN WATER AND EDUCATION
You have not lived today until you have done something for someone who can never repay you.
